This week's episode is a book review of Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential.  It's exploitational, but we can't necessarily say over-exaggerated.  This episode isn't rated as "clean" because the book makes numerous references to alcohol and drug use, as well a informal dalliances with the opposite sex (I think I said that as polite as I possibly could).  An entertaining read from someone who really has been there and done that (probably a few times), Boudain's Kitchen Confidential is the flag ship of restaurant exposés, that have influenced many others to write their own memoirs of how things really are in the kitchens of restaurants.

Usually we avoid trendy places, instead looking for great food at affordable prices - well, aZian seems to offer all three under one roof, as well as one of our favourite cuisines - Asian!

We like to think of ourselves as being culinary adventurous, but travel costs a lot of money, so until we get a radio or TV show we have to make due with the magic of books to transport us to exotic edibles and forbidden foods.  Tom's book (believe us, Mr. Bowles, it's better we refer to you informally in the show so we'll stop butchering your last name) is just the ticket to reading about dishes that you could only imagine yourself eating (or not eating).

This week's episode discusses a curry restaurant in Oshawa, as well as our respective first times eating at Indian or "Curry" restaurants.  Mmmmm!  Pardon the gratuitous Red Dwarf references.  Tracy also does a quick review of yet another book about the pleasures of tasty adult beverages - Everyday Drinking by Kingsley Amis.

Long overdue, here is part one of many episodes about cheese. We give a basic primer on tasting, pairing and varieties of cheese.  So, don't be shy, grab some cheese!

Spencer came up to visit us the week of St. Patrick's. He's a fan of the podcast so there were a bunch of places he wanted to go, and as if we were going to deny him! The three of us checked out Rolling Pot (no pics, sorry - just check out our previous pictures and superimpose Spencer's jovial face into the scenes of your choice), The Rainbow, Viva Burritos, Go Believe Sushi, Teddy's and picked up pepperettes at the Three Little Pigs. Having him as a guest host and honourary Fat Chick was a blast! Hope you enjoy the episode as much as we enjoyed recording it.

The 19th was Tracy's birthday, so we decided to check out a sushi place that everyone had been telling us about. Sushi Mountain's lunch buffet was awesome!

We found ourselves in the rare situation of being able to spend a week in Montreal, Quebec with a dear friend who was traveling on business (and thus shall remain anonymous).  All we had to do was pay for our food, so we decided to go.  This is the first of two parts.  We had a great time!
